Fintech company Smarkets is boosting its workforce in London and Malta.
Smarkets, which is one of the one of the world’s largest betting exchanges, intends to significantly increase the technology company’s engineering and operations teams in order to accelerate the company’s growth.
The company plans to add 50 Python and Erlang engineers, and more25 marketing and operations staff. This will support their future ambitions in the UK and abroad. The company also plans to build a new headquarters in central London.
By its own admission, Smarkets has set out to challenge convention within the Fintech industry and the workplace environment is without exception. Smarkets claims to be one of the only European companies to implement a “self-management” culture that removes all hierarchical corporate management structure.
