Crowdfunder Seedrs goes clubbing this week as its gives investors a chance to own part of a nightclub in Ibiza.
Alter Ibiza is set to open in July and is slightly off the beaten track, in San Josep. It represents what the Seedrs team regards as the reopening of one Ibiza’s top venues, designed by artist Lluís Güell, who is behind the well-trodden destinations of Café del Mar and Es Paradís.
Seedrs says it is one of the most sought after destinations on the island and should attract some of the best DJs.
The pitch is based on attracting a more sophisticated audience and a different focus. The Seedrs’ statement said: “Pulling away from the extreme commercialisation and over-pricing across Ibiza’s clubland, Alter Ibiza are set to shift the island’s focus back on true value for money for a more mature, sophisticated audience. They are creating a stunning destination for those, for whom clubbing was once a way of life, “The original one-nighter generation” as Time Out’s Nightlife Editor described. These more seasoned Ibiza lovers account for nearly 1.3 million of Ibiza’s fast moving tourism statistics every year. The club will have an over 25s door policy with teams of promoters specifically selected to tailor to the musically educated.
“Alter Ibiza will be the only nightclub, in a popular beach resort homing over 10,000 tourist beds. Balearic news stations report that Ibiza will likely reach 100% hotel occupancy in August 2016. One might be able to forgive them for feeling a little optimistic about natural footfall.”
Seedrs will have 18.03% of the equity for its platform.
Campaigns Success Manager at Seedrs Ekaterina Steube said: “We are delighted that Alter Ibiza is raising on Seedrs. To our knowledge, this is the first time a nightclub has ever launched an equity crowdfunding campaign, so it is a really unique opportunity for our investor base and anyone in the UK who is passionate about the white isle.”
